We Were the First—And We’re Owning It
We’re not the type to brag. In fact, we pride ourselves on staying humble, letting our products speak for themselves. But every once in a while, you have to plant your flag and own what you’ve built.
When we started Summit Dogwear, there was no such thing as an adjustable paracord collar. Sure, people were making paracord collars by hand, but they were always one-size, custom-ordered, and inconsistent. If your dog grew? Too bad. Needed an adjustment? Not happening. Or, if your dog is like our Summit—a bear of a pup whose coat drops 10lbs and an inch around his neck when he gets shaved—you were out of luck.
So we decided to change that. We combined paracord with a belt-style collar—a simple yet game-changing innovation that no one else had done before. It wasn’t easy. The first versions? Let’s just say they were ruff. But that’s how great ideas start. They come out raw, unrefined, malleable, and it’s your job to shape them into something real.
We went back to the drawing board again and again, tweaking, adjusting, and refining until we created something that actually worked—an adjustable, durable collar that could handle years of adventure—tested in the rain, snow, salt water, 40 degree sunshine, months of camping, adventurous hiking, and more—without breaking down. And not just that, but a commercial-grade, scalable paracord product that could be delivered consistently, with the same tension, width, buckle placement, and quality every single time. No loose weaves, no misaligned hardware—just precision.
Not only did we create the first paracord belt-style collar —customizable with colorful biothane belts or classic leather, easily swapped out to match your style—but we know when it counts to have an emergency tactical collar, so we designing the first adjustable tactical paracord collar with a quick-release buckle that can be popped off in an emergency.
And now? We see others following our lead—just like our reflective plate catches light from headlamps and sunlight across parks, trails, and beaches. People are catching on, and following suit.
But no, we don’t feel pressure when a competitor sets up next to us. Or has their product next to ours in a store. We’re not intimidated. Because innovation separates us from the red ocean of competition.
Our products stand out. Our story resonates deeply. And our mission is authentic and genuine.
For Once... we’re tooting our own horn—because we earned it.
